DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BOILERS TYPES ACCORDING TO THE COMBUSTION SYSTEM
Depending on the combustion system of the boiler we can differentiate between:
Atmospheric boilers. They are those that extract the air from where the boiler is installed to carry out the combustion in an open chamber. In any case, they can no longer be installed because, due to possible safety problems if their combustion is deficient, their installation is prohibited since January 1, 2010, according to R.D. 1027/2007 B.O.E. August 29, 2007.
Watertight boilers. This type of boilers, unlike the above, use outside air to carry out the combustion (not where the boiler is installed) inside a watertight box, without contact with the air from the outside. Burned gases are expelled by a fan through the exhaust duct to the outside. In this type we include the condensing boilers and the low NOx, the most used and safe today.

Depending on the way the boilers are installed, we can differentiate them as follows:
Floor boilers. They also usually have a higher power and are not usually installed in homes.
Wall boilers. They are not so powerful and are usually installed in homes.

Due to its operation, performance and consumption we can divide the boilers as follows:
Standard watertight boilers. They are the oldest on the market, so their performance is around 90%, as they need to consume more energy to heat water. Usually it is the type of old boiler that we are in the houses and that is better to change by a condensation or a low NOx, given its lower yield and to which they contaminate more.
Condensation boilers. They have 15% more efficiency (105%) than standard ones, since they take advantage of the water vapor energy of the combustion gases. Condensation boilers, on the other hand, pollute very little and are ideal for low temperature installations with radiators.
Low NOx Class 5 boilers. Its performance is somewhat higher than standard boilers, but lower than condensing boilers. Another of its characteristics to emphasize is that they emit combustion gases that contain a reduced amount of oxides of nitrogen (NOx), reason why they are ecologically much cleaner.
